Lost some friends today to layoffs. And bullshit corporate policy geared to CYA and insure their own compensation. Compensation which these "people's" expense accounts, entertainment budgets spill more than most of make in salary a year.

Fuck them.

Ahh... Lost Angels.

I hate the place...

But the stop I always make at the original Pacific Dining Car is a never failing treat. Its always cool, calm and sanity resetting as much as can be expected. Low lights, dark bar and smooth pours make a seat on this 24/7 train not a pain.

I did not see the "Dog" James Ellroy, but when I'm forced to return to Hell-A, I will look for old boy down the bar.

Wouldn't it be better, more effective and efficient to meet over a couple of pops and hash it all between sips? How much easier is that?!? And it tastes better without that phone hissing nastiness. Finally, you are not looking at the damn clock every three seconds or dreading the next call to follow up on the previous call. I don't know - just a thought...

What a view.

One of those places that you know is always there, but yu don't always get to. I used to go there quite a bit and for long. Some colleagues and I once sat down at noon and left at 2.

AM.

Tracy and Jessica are still generously rockin' the bar and the food always pleases. And ya can;'t beat the view. Whether of the bar back or the Bay. Or the beer, bourbon or bubbly.

Skate on over and stagger out.

Ahhh, Drinking in a Limo

Had a great Sunday afternoon cruising the Napa Valley. With a designated driver. In a black stretch Lincoln. The only way to travel...

It keeps both hands free for added consumption.

We hit Rutherford Hill winery for a great tour and in-cave tasting of all there specialties. And then some.Then on to Mumm for some bubbly, finishing up at V Sattui for more.

The only way to barrel down the highways.

If ya find yourself wandering the lower Pacific Heights stop in for a beer and a bump.Might have to do a poster for these guys...
